Aerial Camera Systems (ACS) are delighted that we have recently gained enhanced flying permissions from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), making us one of the few UAV operators to have received them.

The demand for aerial filming using UAVs has grown significantly in the last few years and our own ACS drone, the Inspire 2 drone has been exceptionally busy, filming in the UK and across Europe. So, the ACS team have undergone the stringent process of obtaining the enhanced permissions from the CAA improving our aerial filming capabilities for both day and night shoots.

Our unit can now operate our UAV just 10m from the public and property not under out control compared to the normal 30m, 50m or 150m distances required of the majority of drone operators. This can make a huge difference, particularly with city style shoots where space is at a premium, or in a crowd situation.

This additional permission allows our team to offer much more flexibility to directors, allowing them to get the shot they need.
